The Forest of the Mothers follows Jürgen and Sofia Stein, siblings and conservationists working tirelessly to protect Costa Rica’s Bosque de las Madres Biological Corridor, a 17,100-hectare habitat linking the nation’s highest peak to the Caribbean coast.
Through sustainable tourism, they’re building a model for regenerative conservation against steep odds—illegal logging, poaching, and development. In a world where short-term profit threatens long-term survival, this film showcases their resolve to create a sustainable, community-based alternative, preserving biodiversity and inspiring others to act for our planet. Their story is a powerful antidote to climate anxiety, reminding us that every individual has the capacity and responsibility to make a difference.
